Location: Dallas, TX – The National Office of Omega Delta Phi announced today that Brother Gabriel Hernandez will serve on the National Executive Council as Vice President of Undergraduate Affairs for the 2021-2024 administration. Brother Hernandez brings with him an array of experience as a former Regional Director. Brother Hernandez is an experienced national leader who will lead execution and support for the undergraduate chapters and colonies while also crafting a new team of Regional Directors.

Hernandez was activated in the Spring 2009 at Alpha Theta Chapter, Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR.  Since becoming a brother, Gabe has served in many capacities within the brotherhood ranging from the chapter to national level. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Oregon State as well as a Master of Education in College Student Services Administration. He has served as the Regional Director of the Northwest Region since 2015 and has won the distinction of Regional Director of the Year in 2017-2018 as well as earning top billing in Region of the Year from 2017-2018 to 2018-2019.

On a professional scope, Hernandez is employed by Portland State University where he fills the role of TRIO STEM Coordinator and Advisor working closely with first-generation college students and in the higher education arena. He has worked in Higher Education for about eight years now and is well versed in policy and the current state of Undergraduate Affairs. 

“I am excited to have Brother Gabe serve as the VP of UA.” said National President Jesus “Chuy” Apodaca. “He reimagined how a regional board can be structured and run. If he can use his experience and work with the incoming Regional Directors to replicate, ODPhi will be operating at a whole new level.”
