Omega Delta Phi Fraternity, Inc.’s Leadership and Development team is happy to announce the appointment of Luis “Rico” Felicano for the Director of Leadership & Development position. Feliciano previously served as the Southeast Regional Director. VP of Leadership & Development Kellen Hernandez spoke on Rico’s appointment.
“I’m excited to be working with brother Rico in this capacity,” he said. “He has proposed great ideas, developed new projects, and will be a great addition to our Leadership and Development team.”
Felicano became a brother at the University of Florida (Alpha Upsilon Chapter) in 2013 and is currently working in Orlando, Florida as a high school counselor. He believes that his experience as a school counselor has made him uniquely suited for his position.
“I do career counseling and personal/professional development every day at my job,” Rico said. “Furthermore, as someone who also needed assistance with their own professional development, I have become very aware of the tools, techniques, and resources in order to successfully plan and develop an individual’s future. I hope that I not only provide and utilize these resources effectively but that I can provide our young knights with the support that they need.”
Education is an area of passion for Rico especially young Latino/a/x students. For this position, he plans to bring this same passion by instilling support and guidance that is much needed for minorities.
“Although I did not know it at the time, I was completely lost and unsatisfied with my life path as an undergrad,” Rico said. “If it were not for the guidance of the brothers of Alpha Upsilon, especially our founder Rafael Cruzado, I would not be where I am today. I strongly believe that having guidance can change an individual’s life immensely. Ultimately I am excited to give that guidance back to our younger members.”
