FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Phoenix, AZ (December 1, 2021) – The Omega Delta Phi Board of Directors has announced a reorganization in the national leadership structure directly affecting the National Alumni Council and Board of Directors membership.
Effective December 1st, 2021, the position of the National Alumni Chairman which is overseen by the Board of Directors and provides the National Alumni Council (NAC) strategic and operational oversight will sunset along with the National Alumni Council. All roles and responsibilities of the defunct position will be transferred to the Office of Alumni Engagement under the direction of the National President.
All currently recognized, and future, Local Alumni Associations will continue to operate as independent associations with their own self determined leadership and operational infrastructure in coordination with the Office of Alumni Engagement.
In order to elevate the Alumni voice in long term strategic conversations, the Board has designated two (2) seats for representatives from Local Alumni Associations (LAA). The seats will be assigned to the top two (2) LAA’s based on dues paying membership levels. Each LAA will select a representative from their own membership based on their own local selection process. The term for the LAA board representatives will be a two-year term to begin on the first day of January 2022.
“This reorganization will provide the Board with much needed energy, talent, and integrate the critical local Alumni voice in both strategic and fiduciary conversations.” said Board of Directors Chairman Soilo Felix. “In addition to the augmentation of the Board membership, the enveloping of the National Alumni Council (NAC) into the National Executive Council (NEC) will allow the teams to work more cohesively and create a seamless transition to alumnihood for all members. These efforts will be led by Brother Jose Lara, who is currently leading Alumni Engagement efforts for the NEC, and has a strong background in working and growing LAA’s and I’m excited to see how he will foster and build a more robust and active alumni base.”
