The Omega Delta Phi fraternity began as an organization on the campus of West Texas A&M University in the Spring of 1992. The fraternity was founded by sixteen founders and two faculty advisors. These 16 founders attended the Omega Delta Phi National Convention at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona and on April 3, 1993 ΩΔΦ at WTAMU was granted colonization by the National Council, and was given the name Theta Colony of the ΩΔΦ fraternity. The Spring semester of 1994 Theta Colony began its first pledge program and on April 9, 1994 activated eight brothers into the fraternity. Theta Colony then attended the National Convention at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas where they would petition for chapter status. On April 16, 1994 ΩΔΦ at WTAMU was founded as the Theta Chapter of Omega Delta Phi, becoming the eighth university to join the Brotherhood.
