Omega Delta Phi at the University of Texas at San Antonio officially began on January 30, 1999. It all began when Mr. Andrew Plata, a man of vision from Lambda Chapter felt the potential to create Omega Delta Phi at the University of Texas at San Antonio. It was then that eight brave men at the first informational meeting knew they would take on that challenge along with the help from their faculty advisor, Daniel Escobar and Andrew Plata which transferred from our Lambda Chapter and had the vision to start Omega Delta Phi at UTSA. These men were: Jesse Rene Garza, Roberto Carlos Villalta, Juan Pablo Perez, Jesus Perez III, Isaac Andrade, Fernando Fernandez, Fabian Gomez, and Roberto Carlos Soto. With hard work and determination of February 26, 1999 those eight brave men were granted club status. Ever since that faithful day, these men worked hard to establish Omega Delta Phi Club at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Through shear determination outstanding community service and innumerable obstacles, on June 26, 1999 at approximately 11:30 p.m. their hard work and determination paid off. They crossed over and became UTSA colony of Omega Delta Phi Inc. Ever since that faithful night the University of Texas at San Antonio has not been the same. These eight men have essentially changed the face of the campus through leadership and community service. And this saga continued until after a year of being a colony, they applied for chapter status and in the 2000 National Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, they were given chapter status to then become Alpha Delta Chapter of Omega Delta Phi Inc. These gentlemen are not done writing the history yet, this is barely the biginning where future brothers then will take the lead of this brotherhood.
