Nicanor (Nick) Pesina – Chairman
Nicanor Pesina is a proud Founder of the Alpha Lambda Chapter of Omega Delta Phi and has been actively involved with the fraternity since crossing over in the Spring of 2001. Originally from the small town of Royse City, TX, near Dallas, TX, Nicanor has resided in Austin for more than four years and is active in organizing the local alumni. Brother Nick earned a B.A. (’04) and an M.P.A. (’06) from Stephen F. Austin State University and is currently pursuing his J.D. at The University of Texas School of Law. His professional experience includes over three years of legislative work as a staffer in the Texas Senate. Nick has a deep passion for the brotherhood and considers it his personal mission to continue improving the fraternity every day. Nick is honored to Chair the National Alumni Council and welcomes the opportunity to help build an alumni association to serve the organization far into the future.
Mike Taddesse – Association Development Chair
Mike Taddesse is a 2003 Alumnus of Texas A&M University-Commerce. While at TAMU-Commerce, Mike joined Omega Delta Phi Fraternity in the Fall of 2001 as a member of the Alpha Iota chapter’s Charter Class. Brother Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Sociology emphasis and has been employed at the University of Texas-Arlington as a Student Affairs administrator since 2005. As an Alumnus, Mike has held several leadership positions within Omega Delta Phi, most recently as the 2009 – 2010 National Director of Expansion. Mike is the most recent addition to the National Alumni Council and looks forward to helping build and strengthen our National Alumni Association. He is an avid sports fan and currently resides in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, in Mansfield, TX.
Jesse Esparza – Board of Directors Representative
Jesse Esparza has been a brother of Omega Delta Phi since 1999. Originally from San Antonio, TX, he attended school at Southwest Texas State (Rho Chapter) where he received both a B.A. and an M.A. He would eventually move to Houston, Texas to attend the University of Houston where he received his Ph.D. in History. His professional experience includes teaching as an Assistant Professor at Texas Southern University in Houston and at Texas A&M University in College Station. Brother Jesse helped establish the Rho Alumni Association and became a member of the San Antonio Alumni Association. He currently serves as the Faculty Advisor for the Alpha Rho Chapter in Houston, as the National Alumni Council Board of Directors Representative, and also sits on the Board of Directors for the national fraternity. He can recuse himself from votes.
Chris Phillips – Secretary
Chris Phillips is a proud member of the Charter Line of the Alpha Lambda Chapter of Omega Delta Phi Fraternity, Inc. He joined the fraternity in the Spring of 2002 and has been actively involved ever since. Chris held various leadership positions while at the chapter, including President and many others. Brother Chris received his BBA in Marketing (’05) and his MBA in General Business (’08) from Stephen F. Austin State University. As an alumnus of the fraternity, Chris has served as the East Texas Regional Director from 2006-2007 (region of the year) and currently as the Secretary of the National Alumni Council from 2009 – present. Chris’ professional experience includes over 3 years of supplemental insurance experience with Aflac and over a year of experience working in the corporate Marketing Department of Mattress Firm. Originally from Freeport, TX, he now resides in Houston, TX. Chris is a member of the Houston Alumni Association and is pursuing entrepreneurial ventures as the part owner of a real estate investment company and a sports marketing company. Chris is a proud father of a 10 year old son and a 9 year old daughter.
Fred Davis – Public Relations Chair
Frederick Davis is a member of the Iota class of the Tau Chapter of Omega Delta Phi, Fraternity. After initiating in Fall 2002, he quickly moved through the ranks of the fraternity, eventually serving as the chapter’s President. Since graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BBA in Marketing, Fred continued his involvement with the fraternity, serving as both Tau Chapter Advisor and Expansion Director of the North Texas Regional Board. Currently, Fred is employed at a marketing research firm and routinely assists local businesses and individuals with freelance web and graphic design. Fred believes that his move to the National Alumni Council was an organic step and will allow him to better serve the fraternity by engaging alumni members and making the national councils more cohesive.
Gene Perez – Board of Directors Representative
Gene Perez is a proud member of the Alpha Class of the Delta Chapter of Omega Delta Phi. He is originally from Houston, Texas and currently resides in College Station, Texas. Gene earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology from Texas A&M University in 1994 and his Certified Financial Planner™ Education from Rice University in 2007. His professional experience consists of over 16 years in the insurance and financial services industry. Gene has also been involved in the DJ industry for 19 years including radio and DJ services. Brother Gene decided a few years back to get involved in the fraternity as an alumnus and has held positions of National Director of Risk Management on the National Executive Council and currently National Alumni Council Board of Directors Representative. Since joining Omega Delta Phi in 1991, Gene has had a deep desire to see our fraternity prosper and continue to grow.
Maurice Shaw – Treasurer
Maurice Shaw is one of the founding fathers of the Alpha Kappa Chapter and crossed in the Spring of 2003. Maurice has held several positions which have included Vice President, Service Chairmen, Programming Director, and Regional Director of the Pacific Region. He received his bachelor degree in Collaborative Health and Human Services and his Masters in Social Work. He currently works for Solano County Child Welfare as an adoption worker. Brother Maurice has joined the alumni board because of the opportunity to continue his commitment and involvement in brotherhood.
